On June 5th, the 8th grade photography class of MS 343, rose bright and early for a truly unparalleled opportunity (one which left many of our own aspiring photographers quite jealous)—a visit to The Metropolitan Museum of Art before public visiting hours. Sree Sreenivasan, The Met’s chief digital officer, led the students on an #EmptyMet private tour, sharing behind-the-scenes details about the museum’s collection. The young photogs snapped away, even capturing a selfie or two!
President Damian Bazadona said, “Thanks to The Met’s generosity, today was a big day in expanding The Situation Project’s mission of connecting NYC public school students with the amazing art in their own backyards. Today, we’ve moved beyond the world of theatre to include visual art and architecture.”
